SBS 2008 Roaming Profiles & Redirected Folders? How? To Another Server?

We are using SBS 2008 at office. Due to some reason we urgently need to setup Roaming Profiles and Folder Redirection but I?m not getting the way of doing it. So need help from you all regarding the same. Also I wanted to know whether I can point these to folders on a secondary server, or do I need to copy the pre-existing profiles to my SBS server?

Please help.

First of all I have a bit confusion when you said ?copying data.? What you actually mean by that, I mean is this a new SBS install or just a migration of an existing domain? I want o know this because the solution completely differs in both cases.

Re: SBS 2008 Roaming Profiles & Redirected Folders? How? To AnotherServer?

Thanks and good question buddy. Actually we started it as a Migration of our existing SBS 2003 domain which was actually a trail version and it got expired during the migration process, actually after the OS had been installed on the new box with the answer file. But as it got expired, we can call it as fresh install, isn?t it.

Here are the steps you need to go through in order to configure the redirect the Desktop, Documents, Start Menu folder in SBS:

1. In the SBS 2008 console, click the Users and Groups tab.
2. In the task menu, click the Redirect folders for user accounts to the server to open the wizard.
3. Choose the folder(s) you want to redirect and finish the wizard.
