    Hi,

Wondering if you can help me. I have been through the setup wizard for remote access and vpn and have downloaded the connection manager.

I can connect to the server from my laptop at home and access files stored on the windows server but if i try and access any other pc on my works lan it says "This Network Resource is not availabe etcc"

I tried to ping the pc i am trying to access (10.10.41.29) but can not. although i can ping the internet broadand router at work (10.10.41.1)

Can anyone tell me what i need to do, to be able to access these resources?

    Thanks

Most probably it would be Windows Firewall or any third party app which is blocking the connection. By the way, as a suggestion, you should keep everything on the server itself instead of client workstations. Never use clients for data storage or sharing purpose.

If VPN is creating so many problems why don’t you simply switch to RWW? It is also very good for the same.

Hello Dave, If you are using ISA server on your SBS 2003, then ensure that the VPN Clients network has the Route relation to the SBS internal network. In case you are not sure about this then you can simply enable the logging on ISA server to trace whether the traffic is denied by ISA. To do this, follow the below steps:

    • In the ISA serve MMC, locate ISA > Monitoring > logging and click Start Query.
    • On the VPN client, try PINGing a SBS internal client.
    • Now go back to the ISA logging tab and check if the ICMP packets are denied. If yes, identify which rule the packets get blocked according to.
