KB948110 - Reinstall of Sharepoint/Monitoring

We have a brand new server, went to deliver it to client today and noticed
that SharePoint Comapnyweb and SBS Monitoring weren't working. SBS 2003 R2
Standard Volume License Disks install. KB948110 was installed.

We fllowed the threads on teh many posts on this, uninstall the KB,
uninstall Monitoring and SharePoint, reinstall Monitoring and SharePoint.
Reboot, reappy patch ...

Nothing has worked. Is there any number to call at MS for support on this?
Any other things to do other than all the links and posts here? I'm about
read to scrap this server and rebuild. Can't leave a client with a new
server that isn't fully funcitonal.

Help!

come back with?

Since it's server down this won't be a free call but let's do some
checking.. what's the exact error message you get?

404 error trying to open companyweb - Small Business Server:
404 error trying to open companyweb

And I'll betcha that www.sbsbpa.com will tell you that .net on
monitoring/companyweb will have been flipped to .net 2

To properly identify the situation always first define the issue by
seeing what exact errors you are getting, then define the google search
by that error string.

Re: KB948110 - Reinstall of Sharepoint/Monitoring

Hi Susan,

I ran SBSBPA and it told me that Companyweb, Backup and Monitoring websites
where on teh wrong version of ASP.net, I fixed those issues and Companyweb is
back.

Now, I cannot get Monitoring running. I tried re-installing it based on on
the of the other posts, but it won't reinstall, keeps failing. RWW isn't
working either (related I'm sure). What can I do to force reinstallation of
Monitoring (or manually uninstall and re-install)

Re: KB948110 - Reinstall of Sharepoint/Monitoring

I flipped those back to .net 1.

SBS Monitoring won't re-install, how do I go about this?

Let's slow down a bit.

Again, what exact error messages are you getting when you attempt to use
it pre-reinstall?

Then when you attempt to reinstall what do you get?

What specific steps are you following?

Re: KB948110 - Reinstall of Sharepoint/Monitoring

Susan,

Thanks for your help today. I was able to get Monitoring reinstalled. I
still had to flip MOnitoring and Remote websites to ASP.net 1. Once I did
thatit all worked.

Any insight on why all the website were going to the ASP.net 2?

It can happen when you apply r2 or merely going to Microsoft update. I
HATE patching .net
