I am using Windows SBS 2003 Server. I had manually downloaded all the updates and install them in the system. It looks the server is having some kind of bug with the updates. I am not able to boot properly. It happens suddenly. I had not added any hardware or driver on the same. I am also trying to go in safe mode but it looks the server settings are severely screwed up. I want some help to restore my old settings back. I hope there will be some way to work on the same.

Do you get any error while updating or while using the server. It is very important that you must list the errors. It is very important that you must list the errors here and on that basis you can get solution. The best way is to enter event log and there you can find more description. You can view that in safe mode. Try to reboot and enter safe mode and that is only way to fix the issue. Or else the last option that remains is to run repair setup.

This type of issue appear when incomplete updates are installed. I go the error when due to power failure the system was turned off at the time of updates installation. After shutdown there was a message on the screen that do not turn of the system until updates are installed. But there was power fluctuation. After that the system did not boot. There was a failure and it was also very annoying. The last thing I did a complete re-installation and it was resolved.

I believe I have the same issue with a Dell Power Edge 1900 Server. Do you have any update on how this was resovled? Our business is down at the moment. I do call a call into Microsoft and I am awaiting a return call now.
