WSUS MMC is working, Synchronization is working, but WSUS fails to download updates and Self Update is not working

WSUS 3.0 SP1 under Server 2008 Enterprise with Hyper-Visor enabled.

I can interact with the WSUS MMC and it appears to be working normally.
Also, client computers are receiving updates and both scheduled and manual
synchronizations work.

However, downloading updates from the Microsoft update site and "self
update" appear to be having a problem, that seems to have started today -
not sure what if anything I did to trigger this. There are no downstream
servers.

There are two updates for which the download is failing - they both have the
same name in the "All Updates" window - "CXT - Network - PCI Soft Data Fax
Modem with SmartCP".

I added the "Arival Date" to the "All Updates" window and it reports that
about 50 updates that "Arrived" yesterday (1 July 2008) that were
successfully downloaded and in fact have been installed on some of the
client computers.

The two updates that are failing to download apparently "arrrived" today (2
July 2008 7:20 PM (PDT)).

Clues anyone?

I tried to run the WSUS server debug tool that I downloaded from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/wsus/bb466192.aspx, but it crashed -
here's the application failure information that appered in the message box
reporting the failure:

Re: WSUS MMC is working, Synchronization is working, but WSUS fails to download updates and Self Update is not working

Some additonal information:

Windows Server 2008 is 64 bit and WSUS is running in the "parent" virtual machine.

WSUS has been running correctly in this installation since it was installed a couple of months ago,
until yesterday.

This is a small (test environment) with about 10 client computers, all of which are getting the
updates they should be.

Re: WSUS MMC is working, Synchronization is working, but WSUS fails to download updates and Self Update is not working

Well, whatever the problem was, it appears to have fixed itself! The
synchronization today found one more update and that one plus the two that
could not be downloaded yesterday have been successfully downloaded
(according the WSUS management console).
