Service Unavailable Error - WsusPool automatically disabling - Windows 2003 64Bit

I want to run WSUS on the Windows 2003 64 bit edition DC for a child domain that we have. I have already tried many type of fixes but I am not able to get this to work. Whatever I do, I end up with the result "Service Disabled" error message and if I am looking at the event logs, then I see the below:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: W3SVC
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1002
    Date: 11/13/2007
    Time: 10:32:51 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Description: Application pool 'WsusPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: W3SVC
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1039
    Date: 11/13/2007
    Time: 10:32:51 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Description: A process serving application pool 'WsusPool' reported a failure. The process id was '3232'. The data field contains the error number.

    I'm also seeing this error:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: W3SVC-WP
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 2274
    Date: 11/13/2007
    Time: 10:37:13 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Description:
ISAPI Filter 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_filter.dll' could not be loaded due to a configuration problem. The current configuration only supports loading images built for a AMD64 processor architecture. The data field contains the error number. To learn more about this issue, including how to troubleshooting this kind of processor architecture mismatch error, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=29349.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks

There is a known problem with the ASP 2.0 and ASP 1.1 which normally works together on a x64 environment, and the 1.1 version only runs in 32 bit. You could try to run IIS as a 32bit, which would be able to fix the problem.

There is an article that discusses how to switch between the 32-bit version of Microsoft ASP.NET 1.1 and both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version of ASP.NET 2.0 on a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows. You can read the same from this url - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894435
