| WSUS for Workgroup Computers
We have WSUS set-up and working for our corporate computers and servers, but we have several servers that are in a workgroup configuration, for security reasons, but they are on the lan ( ex : Exchange 2007 Edge Servers )... We want these servers to use our WSUS servers, what are the ways to configure them, since can't use GPO's ? From the help file, I see that I have to use the registry, but is there a better or cleaner way, can I use Server side targeting, server is now configured for client side targeting... |

server side targeting is irrelevant to your question; I think you may be misunderstanding what it does. (It relates to how computers are assigned to WSUS groups and has nothing to do with configuring computers to use WSUS.) Since you aren't in a domain you can't use group policy, so you have to use registry settings. These are documented here: <http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/75ee9da8-0ffd-400c-b722-aeafdb68ceb31033.mspx?mfr=true> |

If you prefer not to use the registry, and don't mind configuring each server individually, you could use local group policy. Configure the computer using Local Policy. |
