IIs Worker Process encountered a problem and needed to close

I am getting error on Windows Server 2003 that states "IIS Worker Process encountered a problem and needed to close" that happens usually when restarting when logging in. WSUS seems to work properly other than that? Can anyone help.

Even I am having the same issue as well. The error is happening with a clean install of WSUS 3.0 on Windows Server 2003 R2 64 bit with Service Pack 1.

The problem that you are getting might be occuring because a worker process in an application pool does not have sufficient permissions to access and write to the following registry key:
    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<ASP.NETVersion>\Names

Even I can confirm this problem, it seems to be related to the "Recycle worker processes (in minutes)" setting or so. I followed the 3 solution from the KB918041 article and therefore I have to wait for some time period to see the result.
