Whenever I type the WSUS server name in my browser I am getting 403 error. I found a similar thread based on this issue but there is nothing much mentioned. I created this separate thread to find a more better alternative in dealing with the issue.

Try to type the proper url which is mostly - http://servername/wsusadmin. Check that you are not doing any mistake in the same. Allow the link under exception list of your Firewall so that it is not at all blocked. Check your Windows Update logs to find the right error and post the same here. On that basis you can get more references.

There will be a associated error or event id liste din Windows Update log. It will show you the exact information and help you to locate the right solution also. Now I found this link on Microsoft forums. This link offer you resolution to deal with update service component. Try out the following and I think you will be able to access.
Error message when you visit the WSUS Administrator Web page: "One or more Update Service components could not be contacted. Check your server status and ensure that the Windows Server Update Service is running"
