| 0xc8000408 ?
Everything I've checked keeps saying "Add System to NTFS permissions on C drive" I checked a bunch of other 2000 Pro clients and none of them had that set like that (it has Everyone/Full, I suppose that's the default). Also, they always seem to reference this error in relation to the WU website, not WSUS clients themselves. The only page I found listing something for the error code explanation was "unavailable" Any ideas? |

Nevermind, solved my own problem. I'll post it for anyone else who comes to Google this issue. The problem was the edb.log file was corrupt so I stopped wuauserv and renamed the log file, then started again. Voila. --------- wuaueng.dll (1676) The database engine could not access the file called C:\WINNT\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\edb.log. ------------------- <-> wrote in message news:eI05TXUSGHA.5924@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > Everything I've checked keeps saying "Add System to NTFS permissions on C > drive" I checked a bunch of other 2000 Pro clients and none of them had > that set like that (it has Everyone/Full, I suppose that's the default). > Also, they always seem to reference this error in relation to the WU > website, not WSUS clients themselves.
