0xc8000408 ?

Everything I've checked keeps saying "Add System to NTFS permissions on C
drive" I checked a bunch of other 2000 Pro clients and none of them had
that set like that (it has Everyone/Full, I suppose that's the default).
Also, they always seem to reference this error in relation to the WU
website, not WSUS clients themselves. The only page I found listing
something for the error code explanation was "unavailable"

Any ideas?

Nevermind, solved my own problem. I'll post it for anyone else who comes to
Google this issue.

The problem was the edb.log file was corrupt so I stopped wuauserv and
renamed the log file, then started again. Voila.
