WSUS Install Failure on Win2k3 Std. (PSFSIP failed to install)

I am trying to install WSUS on a Windows 2003 Server with all the critical updates applied, all pre-required installed and SQL Server 2003 installed. The installation is failing at the time of installing PSFSIP. I am also not able to find any information of this PSFSIP on google as well. By using a domain admin account I am installing it, this box is normally not a DC but a member server. Check the below log for the same:

Error Failed to open MSI package:
C:\WSUSSetup\ENU\SUS\WUSSetup.msi (Error 0x80070003: The system cannot find the path specified.)
Error Failed to determine if locale is English. Assuming non-english ... (Error 0x80070003: The system cannot find the path specified.)
Success MSXML2 is already installed on this machine
Success Initializing MWUS installation
Success Installing PSFSIP
Success VerInstallFile return code: 65536
Error Failed to install PSFSIP (Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error)
Error InstallPSFSIP failed (Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error)
Error Installation of PSFSIP failed (Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error)
Error PerformInstall failed (Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error)
Success Rolling back Installation

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this issue? Thanks.

You can do one thing, zip and send me the below things in email:

-contents of %program files%\update services\logs directory
-%windir%\setupapi.log

Also, I dont think that a separate log is created in %windir% for PSFSIP because it is a part of the WSUS install, but you may want to sort the contents of %windir% by date and check if there is a log with the same timestamp like your failed WSUS installation.

try this:
1. regsvr32 /u psfsip.dll
2. rename psfsip.dll in %windir%\system32 to OLD-psfsip.dll
3. try to install again
