Yes that much of a difference; my 2600k can do 4.7Ghz at 1.37vcore while others need over 1.4volts and some only require 1.34 or even less.

What are your temps at 3.8Ghz? Anything above 75c/80c...

Sooooo, think I answered my own question. Upon trying various things, editing the registry, I deciding to look more into that missing WMADMOD.dll file. I just downloaded it from and copied it over...

I have the same problem. Messenger would open sign in then after a few seconds it would hang and close.
