Some pcs i have worked with have done similar and it was a faulty power supply. Some one recently told me they one at a time disconnected various bits of hardware and found it was faulty cd causing...
Usually when i install xp and am the only user, i get straight into the desktop without the login screen and being asked for a password. Now with my last install (still the only user) i do get this...
