can i just use ubuntu and replace the usb drivers on my windows hd? (i know i can access all my files off my main hard drive while using ubuntu on second hd)

it is a usb keyboard and usb mouse that i am running on my desktop pc. i have linux ubuntu running on a partition that both the keyboard and mouse work great on. i have checked bios and everything...
recently my keyboard and mouse stopped working on my windows startup. they work on all my recovery menu, motherboard menu, and even my linux ubuntu on my partition but wont seem to work on windows...
