Seems like distributors care a damn about their consumers. When I called up Mediatech on 18th Feb, they told me cards would be ordered post-budget and hence would be available in March.

As per current news, the Gainward cards are expected to arrive on the 20th Feb @ Mediatech.

Mediatech seems ready to set the cat amongst the piegons by pricing it's AGP cards less than XFX. Kudos to them.

Suprise, Suprise, Suprise. I rechecked with MediaTech and they said they would also be importing the Gainward 6600 GT AGP too. Expected by 1st Week of Feb.

Why would XFX, the company underclock these cards to 900Mhz in that case?
What about overheating? Wouldn't this reduce the lifespan of the card? Is it certain that the card would produce artificats...

Dude, the NVidia site gives the specs for the reference card. XFX uses the 6600 chipset to make their own card and these cards have their own specs.
Check the XFX specs on the XFX's official website...

I go to BBC to buy my card, they redirect me to PrimeAGBG saying they are the retailer. Out there I say I want an XFX 6600 GT 500/1000.

If Prime is aware that they are selling 500/900, they are...

So No Gainward for me!
Now I really am wondering about my options. :rolleyes2
