The Pavilion did come with a recovery partition (D: drive) on the HD. If I had any sense would have backed it up prior to reformatting the entire drive. My next step is support.

As soon as bought my HP dv6000 immediately proceeded to reformat the HD and load XP. I just don't like Vista.
