Yeah go for core i5. It is better,faster than i3 and it is a quad core too. But it does not have hyperthreading if you want that feature go with core i7 800 series a few hair faster and few more...

Go for the core i5 its performance is lot better than that of quad core. But you need to change your motherboard to get supported the i5. Try asus sabertooth 55i or p755 evo these are quite good mb...

Go for 2gb kinston 800mhz on dual chanel for better performance.

Go with the i7 860. Its arcitecture totally different from qx and a little from i7 nehalam. It rocks! Go thru the benchmarks. Its the best worth of your buck!
