    Hello guys,

Today i am writing a review of Asus P4C800 motherboard.THis board is basically based on Intel 875P chipset. This is the flagship chipset from Intel for the current 32 bit processors.

Anyways let's get down to point.

    Product : Asus P4C800 Motherboard
    Chipset : Intel 875P[Northbridge] & Intel ICH5[Southbridge]
    AGP slot : AGP8X
No. of PCI Slots : 5
    Additional Features : 2 X SATA Ports,2 Ultra DMA IDE channels,6 USB 2.0 ports,1 Gigabit Ethernet port.

These are some of the things that will give you a general idea about the features.

    The board comes with,
    Manual
    Driver CD
    Asus Instant music Keyboard sticker
    Motherboard layout case sticker
    1 X 80 COnductor IDE cable
    1 X 40 Conductor IDE cable
    1 X 1.44 MB FDD cable
    2 X SATA HDD cable

THe motherboard,as stated above is based on Intel 875P chipset.THe performance that this board gives you is really outstanding.Basically this chipset supports the PAT technology from Intel, mind you this technology is supported only by this chipset.

What this technology actually does is that it enhances the memory bandwidth helping in boosting the overall performance considerably.
It should be noted that this technology works only when DDR400 modules are installed.

THis chipset supports Dual Channel DDR.The board comes equipped with 4 Ram slots giving you more flexibilty on future Ram upgrades.

It is a noteworthy thing to notice that Asus has provided AGP8X cum AGP Pro slot.

Now this AGP Pro slot is necessary for professional graphics cards like the Nvidia Quadro series or ATI FireGL series.
THis implies that this board can be easily used for workstation purposes.Actually the 4 Ram slots also indicate this.

From this board onwards Asus has started introducing some interesting features like AI Features. Now what does this mean?
Well there is nothing extraordinary in this but these features are quite interesting.
THe one that caught my attention was the Asus Instant Music. Now what this feature actually means is that while you are installing you operating system, you can enable this feature in the bios and then insert an Audio CD in ur drive and listen music while installing your OS.

Doesn't this make OS installation much more fun? i think it sure does.

Well as i don't have enough time i can't run the benchmarks so can't give you the results or scores but don't worry, they are on their way.

Now coming to the cons that this board has.Actually it is very diffcult find any but there is,a major one,Asus has not gone with ICH5R version of SOuthbridge, which has native SATA Raid support.THey have used a different controller for that.I think this should have been avoided.

Well due to time constraints i have to wrap this review up but the next installment is on it's way soon with all tests, benchmarks and much more fun.

    Stay tuned for more fun.
