Motorola Moto E Smartphone Review
Motorola Moto E is a poor man's apple. The device is powered by latest android operating system and it is equipped with good hardware that makes it the best budget phone in the market. There is hardly any device which can beat the features of Moto E. This device has been released with a motive for targeting the budget market. At a cost of Rs.6999, Moto E is an amazing device with unmatched features. Keeping the price low means low hardware, but somehow Google has managed to give great performance at this budget price. Loaded with the latest Android Kitkat 4.4 OS, it adds more benefits. Many high end phones are still stuck with Jellybean and are not going to get any update, but in Moto E you get this latest OS out of the box with other unique stuff. This phone falls in the budget line which makes it the most wanted device in India. At a cost of Rs.7000 that push it under Rs. 10000 price range, we hardly have any phone that can beat Moto E. Above that we get a sturdy design, Gorilla Glass protection and amazing performance. I am really impressed with the touch screen quality of this mobile. No doubt Moto E is one of the best budget phones in the market. The device brings out a fresh competition in the market. Big challenge to other brands.
Moto E has a thick sturdy body. It is also a bit heavy. It does not look like a cheap phone from any angle. It comes in two color choices. Black and White. Black comes with a rubber coating on the backside that add more to the grip, while White looks very impressive but can get dirty fast.
At the front lies a 4.3inch screen which offer a max resolution of 960x540 at 256ppi. It is an IPS display that produces a very good quality screen output. Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that makes it scratch-resistant. It has good viewing angles and the screen is bright enough under sunlight. The notification led is placed on the top left. There is no front camera available here. At the bottom there are three touch keys and just below that lies front speaker.
There is nothing provided on the left side and on the right lies a single power button with volume rocker.
At the top lies a 3.5mm audio jack with a micro usb port at the bottom.
Re: Motorola Moto E Smartphone Review
You can remove the backcover. Inside you will find two micro sim card slots. And a micro sd card slot as well. 1980 mAh battery is locked with the body. You cannot remove it.
The overall design of Moto E is very good. It brings a lot of features at budget price. The model is stock on Flipkart right now and also available on the online store for US only at $129.
4.3inch IPS Display screen is enough for day to day usage. It is enough for playing games, watching videos and for net surfing. Being an IPS display it is clear and has good viewing angle also. The screen provides you a maximum of 960x540 resolution at 256ppi, which is more than enough for a budget phone. I am quite impressed with the screen quality here. Reading text is simple. It is smooth and responsive. It does not lag. For those who had already used a big size phone will find the screen congested. The screen is further covered with Gorilla Glass 3 that makes it scratch resistance. At first after checking out the specs, I thought the screen would be less good. But after testing out the device for a while I am quite happy with the output. Text is clear on it and due to small size you have to zoom out pages more often. For gaming it is also fine. Overall quality of a mobile phone lies on the screen and here Moto E proves to have a good one.
Moto E comes with a single 5MP camera. There is no flash provided. You cannot take photos in dark. But if you are outdoor you can take good images. Images are clean and clear when you are in sunlight but when you are in dark the images get grainier. The phone runs on Android Kitkat rom due to which the camera app has some different features. It seems fast and responsive when you take photos. I am not quite satisfied with the camera, but still being a budget phone it is not fair to expect much. Low light performance is what this phone lacks, otherwise it is good. The camera application does not bring out many benefits, but if you want to add more effects you can try third party camera apps from Google Play. Stock app is very simple to use with a new gallery layout. Compared to Jellybean, the gallery of Kitkat rom looks more organized with label on the top side.
Re: Motorola Moto E Smartphone Review
Being a budget phone the first thing that comes in your mind is performance. How better this phone can perform. Moto E beats many phones in performance. Not to an extreme level, but in the mid range series. This phone is amazing for apps and entry level gaming. You can install ample of apps from Google Play and this device does not lag or freeze while using them. Moto E is one of the best devices when it comes to entry level games like Angry Bird, Subway Surfer, etc. I had tested a few 3D games also which worked really well. The device runs on dual-core Snapdragon 200 clocked at 1.2GHz processor with 8GB ram and for graphics there is an Adreno 302 GPU. This gives out a decent output for apps usage. The phone comes with 4GB storage and you can expand that to 32GB through a micro SD card. Among 4GB around 2GB is available for the users. You can add a limited amount of audio and video files here. The default video and audio app is capable of playing various media file format.
Moto E runs on 1980 mAH battery. The usage is decent here. With performance, the phone has a good battery output. Entire credit goes to Kitkat operating system. It looks that this new OS is able to manage battery more properly than Jellybean. I had used this phone for the entire day and it worked really well. You can use the phone for entire day without charging if you turn off unnecessary things. You can expect more than 6hrs of battery on video usage and a bit less than that on gaming. It does not heat up while playing games which are one of the most common issues with other devices. The device has an internal battery saving feature.
Moto E is a good product and it is a worth buying device. But there is not much stock. This phone gives you everything under a decent price. It does not look overcharged from any angle. The phone works well with ample of different applications. You can install many games in the same. It is good to buy a memory card with the device. The phone is ideal for chatting, for web surfing and for multimedia. That is the reason this device has so much demand. At Rs.6,999 the device is value deal. You might have to sit back on your pc and checkout when it is coming online for sale. Because this would be your final chance to grab the device. I hope Motorola will make more new phone and release them under such unbelievable budget. Moto E success proves how people will love this kind of models that has everything under its budget. But the thing that this phone lacks is a flash which would have helped the camera to take better pictures.
