    LG Prada 3.0 smartphone

Its time to have a look at the smart and stylish LG prada 3.0 phone. The third phone designed by Prada and built by LG has the name Prada at the back which appeals a lot in style and also its black body is tremendous. LG Prada 3.0 is mainly targeted to the fashion conscious audiences and for sure it will be very much popular with them. This phone has a long list of features including a 4.3" NOVA display, 1GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB ram, 8MP auto-focus camera, HD video recording and many more. So lets have a detailed look at the phone.

    Design

The first impression of the phone makes you feel attracted towards the phone. you will find a Prada imprint on both the front and the back of the handset which makes the device easily recognizable from a distance. The rear cover has a Saffiano pattern for a better grip. However you would be disappointed to hear that the body which actually looks like a metal is not a metal in reality, it’s a plastic. However good finishing work and powerful styling compensates for that.

It has a 4.3" NOVA display which produces a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and 217ppi pixel density which can give brightness of 800 nits. However that’s not a big deal since there are many nokia phones which can push the brightness of the screen upto 1,000 nits. Still Prada scores well above all the LCD phones that are there in the market and gives a commendable contrast ratio with enough brightness.

LG Prada has 4 standard Android buttons from left to right they are Menu, Home, Back and Search. At the top there is a 3.5-mm audio jack, power button, the dedicated camera button as well as a micro-USB port. One interesting thing about the camera button is that, on hitting the camera button the front camera 1.3 megapixel gets opened up instead of the rear camera. Good thing for fashionistas to quickly use the phone as a mirror to see if their makeup needs touching up. The bottom side of the phone has only a microphone, two corner edges have steel buttons on the opposite end. Volume controls are on the left side, while interestingly nothing is placed on the right it is kept clean.

On opening up the phone it has a microSD card slot, a SIM card compartment and a 1540 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The following are the specifications of this phone

The interface of this phone has a classy gray and white theme unlike the other prada phones. The phone opens up with default icons such as Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Applications but you can easily rearrange them anyhow you want. There are total 78 homescreens in the phone and placing the icons is much fun in this phone. you have to tap and hold on the display or hit the add button in the menu a gridlines appear on the screen with widgets, shortcuts, folders and wallpapers to choose from. Select a item that you want to add in the homescreen and just tilt the phone. the item will get automatically added in the homescreen with the help of Gesture support.
The notification area of the phone has 5 options Sound, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and Sync. LG Prada 3.0 – Scenes is much similar to the HTC Sense's Scenes.

There is a task manager as well with a small dedicated widget on the homescreen you can access it directly from the homescreen only.
Contacts handling and messaging is quite easy in this phone. it can send all types of messages such as SMS, MMS and email. Email support is excellent with support for Exchange. You will definitely love it.
The on- screen keyboard is quite responsive and looks good in both portrait and landscape mode as well.

The phone has a very good music player with songs to select from writing the initial alpahabets in the search. Also one unique thing that we noticed in the phone is that on flipping the phone on one side it displays a cool 3D wall of all the albums that you have in the collections. Tapping a album will display all the lists of songs from it. Music player displays a big pic of the album cover in the center while the controls are at the top as well as bottom. This phone has an above average video player. The interface of the video player is kept very simple, there is a alphabet scroll to help users locate videos faster, with the help of the scrubber you can skip some part of the videos very easily, the video player supports files of all formats including 3GP, MP4, MKV, WMV and AVIs using DivX and XviD. This phone has a very descent audio output.

Having clicked some photos from the camera of this phone we realized that taking a picture was quite the slow affair. The clarity was good but the image processing was taking some time. So photography lovers who have the habit of clicking many photos at a time would be disappointed but the surprise package was the video recording. The 1080p video recording was excellent and clarity was awesome.

Talking about the browser of this phone with the help of flash support it can play all videos in it. The Prada 3.0 browser offers a handy option to bookmark a page in a quick section, it also supports double tap zoom and pinch zoom feature. I found the whole browsing experience really good.

As far as organizing is concerned then there are various apps such as Timer, World Clock, Stopwatch, voice recorder, Rich Note app and many more.
LG Prada 3.0 does not have a separate applications for the social network sites instead it has a single app called as Social+ widget, which does all the work of handling social networks. This phone has the latest version of android market with separate sections for top featured apps, paid apps and free apps.

    Performance

The phone has a good performance considering the fact that majority of the Smartphone does come with a dual core processors only. It lags a bit in some places but that’s ok. The battery is said to last 5 hours in 3G network while 330 hours on standby. However you cannot trust much on the battery of a android phone as many of them are quite weak.

Call quality was quite good with amazing reception and clarity.

    Conclusion

Now coming to the conclusion all I can say is that phone looks good but there are 2 important points that raises its head. One is will this phone be having an ICS update? Well nothing much has been confirmed on this. While there are many other android phones which are getting displayed in Mobile World Congress with ICS as operating system, so when they come out they would be a definite completion to the phone.

The other point is the price. It is being priced at Rs. 41,426 I.N.R approx. there are many high end phones which are available at much lower price then this one. So the price would definitely be a constraint.

Otherwise the phone has no other issues. I would like to give a total of 4 out of 5 for this phone.
