    AMD FirePro V4900 Graphics Card

AMD has released is new professional solution gpu called as AMD FirePro V4900 . The card is meant for professional work where more detailing is required. It does not matter what kind of medium you are working. Now you might be thinking what is the difference between this card and other. The difference lies in the gpu it uses. Firepro is entirely a new technology by AMD which differs from regular gpu used on graphic cards. AMD FirePro V4900 is powered by 1GB GDDR5 Memory and 480 Stream processor. It can support output on continuous 3 monitors i.e. AMD Eyefinity technology. Everything is managed by this single card. AMD FirePro V4900 is the most recent gpu card which tends to give excellent performance. It is best deign to work with designing and multimedia job. I am not talking about gaming here. This is a professional support card which is for those who work on designing and animation.

AMD FirePro V4900 supports advance graphics which is designed to enhance user experience and give better performance in application support. The multi display technology is today’s requirement for advance projects. It indirectly increases your work productivity. In the configuration of the AMD FirePro V4900 includes 480 stream processors, 128-bit memory interface and 1GB of memory type GDDR5. The card supports API Microsoft DirectX11, OpenGL 4.2 and OpenCL. The FirePro V4900 is based on the "Turks" GPU, which is already on the Radeon HD 6670 and Radeon HD 6570 for the desktop market ( Computer Base Test is used). Accordingly, the buyer 5D 96 shader units, 24 full Texture Mapping Units and eight ROPs are available. The GPU is clocked at 800 MHz and is thus the same speed as the Radeon HD 6670th.

A small overview on GDDR5 to determine the card performance : GDDR5 stands for Graphics Double Data Rate version 5. GPUs work on a type of SGRAM. SGRAM is responsible to perform intense graphic operations without giving load on cpu and ram. GDDR5 is a kind of DDR3 SDRAM which has double power then DDR2.

Re: AMD FirePro V4900 Graphics Card

    Performance

The AMD FirePro V4900 is a league of its own and the skills of professional graphics card redefines the entry-level. The AMD FirePro V4900 uses AMD's most advanced graphics technology. This not only improved the ease of use and increases the performance of professional applications, but offers the user can use the multi-display technology, AMD Eyefinity, which supports up to six displays and improves the productivity of users.

The memory interface consists of two 64-bit controllers (128 bits) together, the size of the GDDR5 memory is 1,024 MB. Whose frequency is 2.000 MHz and there is also the Radeon HD 6670th The maximum power consumption is less than 75 watts, so a separate power cord is unnecessary. The AMD FirePro V4900 supports DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.2 and OpenCL. The card comes with the Eyefinity feature so that can be used via a dual-link DVI and two DisplayPort outputs to the 1.2 standard. By "multi-stream transport hub" (MST hubs, supposedly later this quarter available) can alternatively six monitors can be controlled Improved support for AMD Eyefinity technology and DisplayPort 1.2 allows the installation of multi-monitor support (up to 6 screens), for higher resolution and a consequent increase in productivity by reducing, at the same time, the complexity and costs arising from a 'multi-monitor setup traditional.

As with video cards and AMD FireProV5900 V7900, FirePro V4900 to use two new technologies, AMD PowerTune and GeometryBoost. AMD PowerTune - a modern technology of control power consumption, which provides direct power control GPU. Applications work with high performance for dynamic optimization of the clock frequency that minimizes the energy consumed by the workstation. Technology GeometryBoost - the ability to handle the equipment are two basic elements in a single cycle, resulting in a higher productivity when working with geometric data. This ensures the smooth handling of complex models for users of CAD applications and DCC.

FirePro V4900 graphics chip is working on Turks, replaced the kernel of Redwood. In terms of the number of threads performance SIMD-instructions increased from five to six that provides performance gains of 20% at the same clock frequency. Also here there are innovations that previously could be seen in the chips Northern Islands. V4900 is very similar to the Radeon HD 6670 in the hardware specifications, works on the same frequencies GPU (800 MHz) and RAM (1 GHz), with slightly more power (75 watts).

    Conclusion

AMD FirePro products are tested and certified with the most successful software applications, to ensure compatibility, stability and performance. Advanced technology allows you to create AMD Eyefinity set with six screens. Proprietary control system power consumption PowerTune provides high performance in dynamic optimization clock frequency, minimizing power consumption. It also mentions the technology GeometryBoost, which can handle two basic elements in one clock cycle to improve performance when working with geometric data.

AMD FirePro products are constantly tested in real conditions, helping to ensure compatibility and stability for certification with many software applications vendors. Video Cards AMD FirePro V4900 certified for many applications, Autodesk 2012, as well as software Ansys 13.0, Bentley Systems Microstation V8i, 3D CAD SolidWorks 2010 and 2011 from Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp., ESRI ArcGIS 10, ESRI ArcGIS 9.3.1, and Side Effects Software Houdini 11. According to the manufacturer, AMD FirePro V4900 will be available as part of the production systems Dell, Fujitsu and HP. In addition, it can be purchased separately. The recommended price of new items - $ 189.
