Re: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

    Gameplay:

In the gameplay of Forgotten Sands, it is to find all the tricks exclusive to the series, it should also introduce several new features. In a announcement Ubisoft speaks of "large-scale fighting" against hordes of enemies and mentions of new powers to control nature. May disappoint fans of the last Prince of Persia dated Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands forsake the cartoon style graphics to go with a design closer to the previous components.

Side scenario, be aware that the action takes place when the Prince visited his brother Malik and landed when his kingdom is on the brink of destruction. To counter an enemy very powerful, Malik has found nothing better than to invoke an army whose soldiers are made of sand. As always, this plan turned unstoppable against the sorcerer's apprentice in question when the Army decided to seize the country and transform its inhabitants into creatures made of sand. The presence of the army provides the pan "fighting" the game They will face the Prince up to several dozens of opponents in a system not unlike that of Batman: Arkham Asylum.

We move from one enemy to another, running or jumping after having been helped by an opponent who faces the hero, we vary the sword and shield or to destroy an infantry protected by armor, It is thrown to the ground with a kick before enjoying the opening for the spit. Sometimes you have to be strategic larger scale. This is particularly the case when one confronts witches able to rely on ordinary soldiers. In this case, no way to disperse. Instead, we focus to achieve the Summoner, thrown to the ground and eliminate it. At other times, the enemies are so numerous that it must appeal to the special powers available to the prince.

These include primarily the hurricane that is capable of triggering for literally scatter his opponents. This is an extremely effective entry into the field. Other handy power: the "dash", a kind of leap forward that instant, on his arrival, has the advantage of reducing the enemy to dust that was. Even if we did not have access during our test, know that all the capabilities of the prince are managed in a tree that offers both sides of progress: a side that was attractive to the physical (strength, speed, etc. .) and, on the other, supernatural powers.

As expected, he won victories over his opponents as the prince gathers experience points which can be spent on the purchase of new capacity. But experience also comes from the "simple" success to reach a point which leads us naturally to think of another essential aspect of the gameplay of Prince of Persia: The acrobatics.

Unable to reason with his brother who can not resist the attraction of these new powers, the prince can not rely on the support of Raziah, the guardian of the waters. This mysterious woman, who is none other than the last survivor of the people of the jinn, seems to know the way to jail again desert the army of using the royal seals. Forced to rely on the prince's acrobatic skills, she will donate extraordinary abilities that will help clear a path to face-to-head final. And it is precisely in the use of these powers is the chief interest of this new opus. Relying, as usual, on the mixing action / platform that characterized the Sands of Time trilogy, the gameplay of the title is effective without dazzle us. Note that the app can no longer count on the surprise effect, the increase with air already played that night pretty fun to play despite the evident effectiveness of the gameplay.

Ancient powers conferred by the sand, there remains the possibility of a brief time back whenever we wish to avoid dying prematurely. An ability that is always useful during acrobatic essential that punctuate our progress regularly. The talents of balancing the prince give rise to phases platforms still as exciting, and changes in angles much easier to read the game environments, making it finds its way almost immediately. The jumps are relatively power, the soft does not require a precision of a goldsmith from the player. However, management of timing is the main challenge that we face in this episode, the latter requiring an acrobatic timing graph which is rather nice to see. One problem caused by another's ability prince, completely new this time: the solidification of the water.

Re: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

If water has always been an ally of the prince in the series, particularly through the famous fountains allowed to regain power, it operates in a more subtle way, becoming a key component of gameplay Forgotten Sands. Able to freeze a waterfall or a fountain allows the prince to take over leadership to rush through the air towards another point of support. Combined with the power which is to recreate parts of the environment to materialize or rationalize certain platforms, the gel makes acrobatic really delectable. You sometimes make not freeze the water a fraction of a second time to take your pulse on a cascade to dash to another waterfall that will thaw immediately if you want to cross, then to land on an invisible platform that you should consider materialize. When you need to bind a series of fatal jumps alternating these two powers over several tens of seconds in a row, I can assure you that you have some cold sweats.

As before, the prince knows leap to suns to propel itself mast mast, climbing up the vertical posts, to hang at your fingertips with overhanging eaves and yawning gaps, when the player gives him the order , hoist themselves by sheer force of arms. This catalog would not be complete if we did not mention that he also has the ability to run on walls or other vertical planes. Obviously, developers would have given their hearts and souls we offer all possible variations between these different exercises.

They discussed such as jumping from a platform, moving from one pole to another and then jump towards a wall, climbing up time of two or three steps before jumping back, grab another pole and then, after a tour complete letting go to reach otherwise inaccessible balcony. Yes, it is sometimes complicated, but remember, the Sands of Time will be there to help awkward to go back and try again a sequence of figures is challenging for them.

A newcomer to the plethora of capabilities available to the prince: the possibility when one presses the left trigger for the Xbox to slow time and solidify the water. Therefore, the waterfalls turn into walls and throwing horizontal or vertical fall become respectively the poles and posts. Of course, this power is temporary even if it regenerates quickly. This often follow the exercises without wasting time and having taken care to observe the surroundings prior to deduce what is expected of us.

The developers have also pushed a little further vice. In some configurations, the jets that can turn into poles are separated by waterfalls. In this case, we must solidify the water to the sun, jump while releasing the power to avoid crashing against a wall, but through a waterfall and then on the other side and in full flight, turn the power to cling to a pole formed by solidifying a stream of water. It takes a little practice and a lot of cool but it's really exciting.

These moments of stress are even more welcome they compensate the relative monotony of the progression, the latter showing a very large classical most of the time. The intensity falls too often during the battles, even if they involve an impressive amount of enemies on screen, are marred by too limited possibilities for action in combat. Certainly, there is first a number of improvements that can unlock in the order that you want, different offensive and defensive powers of the prince. The effectiveness of these increases at each level, the experience to help you improve freely to any of your choice. This will use an armor stone moves temporarily invincible, a flame that affects surrounding enemies, a tornado or a breath of frost that makes your attacks more scathing.

But all these powers are a little gadget in the heat of the action and does not compensate for the lack of opportunities in terms of stunts. Just can you twirl on the enemy to hit him with thanks, but no technique can surprise his opponents by exploiting the environment, however, as was the case in the first trilogy. Result, clashes quickly become very nags, a kick or shoulder enough to break the guard of the more conservative opponents. In general, the behavior of idiotic enemies of the game is matched only by their extreme slowness, and we come to wonder whether the presence of an Easy Mode option is really justified.

Less fiery than his predecessors in terms of action, also less ambitious in its accomplishment, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands nevertheless deserves to reconnect with the gaming experience that had almost forgotten since the release of Two Thrones, the third installment of the trilogy. Nostalgic would be wrong to deprive themselves of this new section that compensates its glaring lack of originality with a recipe gameplay that has very little to prove. Too bad the title did not receive a graphic design worthy of the name and he is content to remain on its laurels, avoiding any risks because the license Prince of Persia still has a great potential and does not deserve to stop in so good way.

    Conclusion:

This is perhaps not with this episode that the series Prince of Persia gets underway, but those who follow it from the beginning necessarily enjoy homecoming began with The Forgotten Sands. However, the title fails to rise above the previous parts of the trilogy and its lack of risk-taking is an episode most agreed that they would have appreciated more easily if it came out some years ago . We're still waiting who will mark a true evolution of the saga Prince of Persia HD consoles

After 2008's Pop came out, I struggled to see what everyone's problem with him is that he was actually a good game. For all the complaining, however, this game should solve the problem entirely. It fits perfectly in Sands of Time Mythos, evoke a sense of play past. If you play and hate, game Pop is not for you. This is precisely what Pop is all about.
