Professor Layton and the Curious Village

For those who like console gaming, the Nintendo wii has already proved that it could provide a package of twisting. The Brain Training course, the text adventure games like Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright and the many puzzle-game as such are there to prove it. The game that interests us now which will propose you to turn with a bunch of riddles, wrapped in an adventure game of singular charm is Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

St Mystery, in addition to its name very close to the french Moret St., is a village like no other. And even if no village is like any other, it has the distinction of being inhabited by a population totally addicted to the puzzles. It was in this small village that will run our adventure, which will put you in control of Professor Layton and his young apprentice Luke. Mandated by the bourgeois family in the city to find the hidden legacy of the late master of the house, the duo will soon be embedded in other curiosities that will lead to St mystery in this decidedly not so trivial game. Top hat, contagious smile and charming British accent, the teacher is an ace in the art of solving any puzzle as possible and imaginable, whether Chinese or not. And he will practice his art with skill to get to the end of what awaits him and his young companion.

    "What a lovely little village"
Level-5, developer booming art, is behind the sticks to guide the players in this adventure set in the sense of logic. Revealed to the general public with their extraordinary Dragon Quest VIII, which not only ensured the passage of DQ to 3D, but the saga offered one of his best album (pending IX, also produced by them), the company has been able to please the crowd with a flawless finish and a desire to have a beautiful story that can be seen in each of their productions. Professor Layton, original creation of the studio, for its part, appealed to the Japanese public with a series already available in Japan (The Pandora Box) and a 3rd album in preparation. The Curious Village is the first investigation of Professor , which is available since mid-February in the U.S., pending confirmation of a European release scheduled for ... one day, who knows. All that to say that when Level-5 decided to create a universe, it "creates" really! Explanation: As soon as the lights on the console, one is dazzled by the graphic of the title. With a rustic beige color as main color of the whole village has a leg which gives it a universe of its own. If you watch an image of the game without any important person, impossible not to recognize it right away! To describe it, the better would be to cast a glance at the screenshots or try to imagine the world of film "The Triplets of Belleville" and less distorted, and with the side so british gentleman at all. The characters also have a design that is clean, with a psychology that can be guessed even before they speak. Although most naturally hide their true hidden intentions..

    "Every puzzle has an answer!"
So here is a game with puzzles which we are dealing here. More than far from other surroundings for hints and cut the tip with the fat people, the majority of your playing time will go on many kinds of puzzles. Knowing that St mystery, everything is an excuse to get out a puzzle! A door to open? A discussion with the owner of the hostel? A candle that hangs in your field of vision? And hop, we go for the intellectual stimulus! These phases are really ingenious and varied and it is extremely rare to ever get stuck, especially through parts of indices that can guide you in your boat. Found by clicking around the village, they can until you unlock the mystery 3 indices, ranging from very clever "read the problem, looser" in the response evoked at half-word. What is really significant here is the differences of what is proposed. Puzzle logic to the problem through mathematical solution, all types of brains should feel flattered and concerned by the case. The difficulty of the riddle proposed here is measured in "every tiny terms. Plus it will be spicy, the more you collect picarats in the solving will be. Beware however, you will get the wrong number of valuable points! This system opens the field to a real competition when comparing picarats with her friends once the game is over. Simply awesome! Another big point of satisfaction, most of the puzzles really use properly the touch screen. Being able to write on the screen is great for counting or summarizing facts in classic mysteries, and it becomes really interesting when you should move or even blocks or draw strings via the stylus. This leads to the fact on the table, Professor Layton and the Curious Village as a whole has an interface very practice that makes one want to come back because we have no nervous and everything is a flawless precision.

    "I think I've got it!"
Let us now on the put ourselfs purely in the technical aspect of the title. A point to address at the end of the test, because it was written above, it is the universe and the ambition of the developers to offer a fascinating and interesting concept that premium. And this is a strength of the title, offering hundreds of puzzles called "basic" without falling into the casual ease of the game, include this in a story that makes you want to go farther. The music will help you feel the strangeness of the place, although few in number and therefore can tap on the people surrounding you. In addition, the note given to the realization at the end of this test may seem high, remember only that I considered more research effort and complexity graphic application technique pure. Indeed difficult to evaluate a game screen fixed in the "realization". In terms of content, it is amply served. In addition to a major adventure in life far from being ashamed, you'll be eligible for puzzles bonus and an excellent initiative online. Each week, a small connection you will be eligible to download a new puzzle, which does not store the Curious Village shelved for a while! Finally, you can only praise this graphic work that drives you to overcome you with developers who, not once, let us take for Truffon.

Re: Professor Layton and the Curious Village

I have played this game on import a long time back. One of the best and most engaging pieces of software I've played in ages. Loved the story behind the puzzles too. Very original.
