    Velvet Assassin : strategy game

Velvet Assassin would end the hunger games infiltration by offering an additional approach to the Second World War. A bold attempt in a discipline that does not forgive the approximation.

War and infiltration, is an association that has the original merit of reviving interest in this historical period overexploited. In the midst of conflict, the British secret agent a velvet assassin sent alone to slow down the German war machine. When the game begins, you see yourself from above, lying in a hospital bed after a mission gone terribly wrong Violet Summer is in the shadows, like a Sam Fisher for 40 years. Sabotage, theft of documents, murder, the officer will perform all types of missions that can be expected of a woman able to infiltrate the strongholds of the best kept.

At least that is what she was doing before landing in a hospital, gravely wounded. Thus, the operations which led here that we follow in Velvet Assassin, by the process of magic dark flashbacks which can not pipe anything. Each mission is a memory of Violet, sometimes punctuated by very short cinematic incomprehensible.

World War II wasn't entirely about massive battles between armies, stopping Hitler's search for occult items or sending a one-man wrecking crew to win the war by himself. The 12 missions that you have to fight single-handedly against the German forces, assassinating a war criminal, destroying a fuel depot, and other objectives typical for the setting.

    re: Velvet Assassin

The story of Velvet Assassin is told from a flashback perspective, and introduces players to Violette Summer, a British secret agent who is frequently sent behind enemy lines. Unfortunately for her, the game starts out with a tragic turn of events: Violette has been badly injured and is trying to recover in a remote French hospital. As she lies in a coma, she remembers many of her previous missions, where she would be dispatched to destroy key installations or assassinate German officers.

Story potholes aside, the primary focus of the gameplay is around stealth as you attempt to infiltrate enemy installations and bases. As Violette creeps up behind her intended target the screen slowly turns red, giving you an indication of when the best time is to strike.Clearly, leaving a body lying around will alert any guard that comes across its path, although this can be used as a tactic to isolate and eliminate other soldiers.

As your efforts in the war play out, Violet begins to question the events around her, making her character empathetic and believable. She's skilled in creeping up on people and killing them in all manner of sneaky ways, from slitting their throats to pulling the pin from grenades they are holding to slitting their throats.

Interspersed with these flashbacks are quick looks at the present, in which two Allied soldiers stand above your hospital bed, trying to decide your fate. You're given mission objectives such as "find the gas mask" or "place the explosive" or "kill the naughty bossman Nazi", but generally levels play out in the same way: you sneak from point A to point B killing any Nazis you find along the way. To kill them you can use a stealth move, or shoot them with guns and ammo you've picked up, or get hocked up on morphine and murder them in slow motion.

In addition to stealth attacks, there are a few other ways to kill your enemies. You can release toxic gas from a barrel to suffocate them, pull the pin off of the grenade of an oblivious soldier, and send a current of electricity surging through a puddle of water on the floor. You might fail because the enemy spot you and sneak around or else you might fail because Violette is surrounded by the purple glow rather, violet glow -that's supposed to mean she's hidden from view, and you assume the game works properly.

    re: Velvet Assassin

There are some issues with the Velvet assassin and these issues when you take morphine time slows down, enabling you to take out enemies with ease. For as long as the morphine lasts everything goes wibbly and blurry, and Violette sports the slutty nightie. On one level all that might sound complex and intriguing, but think about it harder and you'll realize it's just stupid.
