    Dell Latitude e6500

The Latitude E Series E6500 is based on Intel’s Centrino 2 technology. The notebook comes with a Core 2 Duo processor. There is a fingerprint sensor included in the base price which is good news, but you may need to pay a bit extra on the OS front to move on from Vista Home Basic, and you may also want to move on from the integrated graphics to a dedicated chipset.Screen resolution is probably the most interesting factor of all where this laptop is concerned. The 15.4-inch display comes at 1280 x 800 pixels in the lowest priced configuration. The one we saw was 1440 x 900 pixels and you can go for 1920 x 1200 pixels, an amazingly high resolution for the screen size.Wi-Fi is included but again you need to stump up to get Draft N support and to add Bluetooth. A webcam is another optional extra.

The E6500 is one of the latest models in Dell’s long-established Latitude family of business notebooks, sporting Intel’s latest Centrino 2 mobile technology and some interesting mobile security options. The very plane base unit with a height of merely 22 millimeters is pleasing at first sight and although it has an abrupt edge at the front side, it assures a pleasant usage of the keyboard. It’s not exactly stylish, but its satin black-brushed magnesium alloy chassis will make it stand out in a room full of the normal corporate models. It weighs 3.15kg, which is at the higher end of what is comfortable to lug around all day.

Re: Gaming Performance of Dell Latitude e6500

Gaming Performance of Dell Latitude e6500

Everyone who may want to play the one or other game, should good for Latitude E6500 variant with the dedicated NVS 160M graphic. Two current games were checked out closer with the Latitude E6500. Bioshock, Race Driver GRID and Call of Duty 4, all 3 under XP Pro SP3.Implying Call of Duty 4 in the settings of 1024x768, AA turned off and all other details and settings on minimum or out, a frame rate of 20-60 fps could be observed in the first scene. CoD4 was definitely well playable with that, nevertheless, short interruption times could be observed now and then. This has about the same level as a Geforce 9300M GS graphic card and can be counted to the multimedia starter chips.

    Display & Sound

The display is great and the resolution of 1440 * 900 is in my eyes is the best. It fits a lot of thing and it is not too fine.Apart from that, the LED illumination energy-saving and especially Hell. The brightness in combination with a matte display extends loosely around outdoors in the sun to work.It is only interfering with that order from level 1 to level 16 to come 1 +16 keystrokes (Fn + arrow up) are needed. For basic CAD and Design Office, the display is thus very well suited.Remains unclear why the notebook from the factory out much too cool colors displayed. Remains unclear why the notebook from the factory out much too cool colors displayed. Red (fire!) Are simply lousy. Here is a screen's worth of colors as you feel comfortable with a suitable image (a collage of images one green landscape, sky and fire show, so should the striking shades of the basic colors available) times the color itself revised. In any case, reach a significantly better result than in the delivery status. As might be expected to have a display in such a compact design well versed with handicaps. Thus, the vertical viewing angle is quite restricted to the first color are clearly visible, the fundamental legibility suffers but only at very large angles. The horizontal tolerance range is only slightly larger. For ambient light sensor is to say that he is useless, or that he is hyperactive job done.

The sound output of the notebook is more neutral than to classify.Tones the mini speakers can not reproduce them seem not to be imposed. This is actually the sound is always good to understand even if all the higher and lower frequencies appear unlikely. So at this point again typical business instead Miss tones to be accepted, the sound is cut so no noise to indicate to call.Overall, the hearing is to be quite pleasant to describe though not with the best multimedia notebooks to compare.

    Re: Dell Latitude e6500

    Conclusion of Dell Latitude e6500

The E6500 has a magnesium alloy chassis and weighs 5.2 pounds with a 4-cell battery. Dell says users can achieve “up to 19 hours of battery life” with the combination of a 9-cell battery, new high capacity battery slice, and exclusive ControlPoint software.

The notebook, which also features Intel vPro Technology advanced management, runs Windows Vista OS.

    Pros
    • The general quality of the chassis and look
    • The quality of editing by Peter Schermann
    • Overall performance without overclock the CPU
    • Extreme edition, so the capacity of the cooling and overclocking.

    Cons

    • That cause a lot of noise (but it's bearable, it is still not an EeePC)
    • The weight (but it is reasonable and will accompany me all day at work)
    • I do not really see anything else
