Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor (PC)

The developers at Relic Entertainment and Company of Heroes in particular, must surely be fans of the series Band of Brothers by Stephen Spielberg. In broad terms, this second stand alone (extension does not require possession of the original game) extending the life of the emeritus strategy game in real time, is just a transcript game.

British paratroopers and German Panzers are here to honor as the game changes gear to focus more on action than on pure strategy. The resources of the game, command points, ammunition and gasoline do not change, unlike the method of harvest!

    Reap what you sow ...

Finished the war trenches or more accurately capture of portions of territory that brings resources, is full as of the progress in eliminating enemies and their strategic positions. For air support we need for example, 100 ammunition points. Two possibilities, either you have the chance of getting a reserve of ammunition, or you drop enough opponents for refueling. Sometimes it will sweep the map to get by. If you like punitive expeditions, you will be served!

Re: Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor (PC)

    Take yourself in hand!

The other "major" innovation that tipped the strategy of tactical action later is the direct control of units still called "direct fire." This helps to point precisely not the platoon or squad you want to attack but the particular unit that you have decided to silence! It is also the player who decides on the rate of fire for weapons making more or less time to recharge. Although used, this ability to directly take things in hand is joking, but not necessarily more effective than traditional selection. As a live fire does not change deeply the playability while controlling the turret of a Tiger has, indeed, very pleased the warrior that lies dormant in us.

    It is your destiny!

Greater conflict, mass media, big disillusionment and destruction, great feats but seen by the small end of the telescope, that's the ambition of Tales of valor. Make no mistake, this is not a criticism, quite the contrary. Is that we would focus almost to the master tank or the German paratrooper English. This is all your troops can spend points to improve their abilities in combat as they win battles.

As said in a tone "epico-pompous" the prologue of one of the missions: "One, it's not much but one sometimes makes the difference!" Actually this is not one but the maximum number of fighters that you will actually preserve because the number is sometimes reduced, every person account. But this is the price to pay to feel a real hero, for having pushed with a single tank or a poor bunch, five enemy onslaught!

    In multi, too!

In battle, the multiplayer is not forgotten by this new episode. Program and there are few new units but also on new modes of gameplay a cooperative mode of up to four players to help each other and forced to agree to repel waves of successive attacks on their position is proposed.

We thought Company of Heroes at the end of the roller and it is reborn from its ashes. Although it is inevitable, it will take much thinking to renew a little deeper the series one of these four. We will be there, still standing, still valiant, heroic, especially not to miss this!
