    Enermax 120mm Cluster Case Fans

After Everest and magma that we tested is the 120mm Cluster that we are addressing.

Also equipped with pale into "wings of bats, it is really interesting

The packaging is resealable so is very nice to open. Everything is very tidy and ready. There are all the features entirely in French on the back of the box.
A small plastic disc is placed on the center of the propeller to prevent it from running during transport.

At bundle, it is relatively well supplied even if there is no potentiometer to control the rotational speed of the propeller (which is normal because the speed is controlled by PWM (4th pin on the power connector) ). There are a small molex adapter, four screws fixing metal rivets and four Antivibration rubber black. Already a lot

The fan design is neat. It is entirely white.
The cable 4 pins supply fan is also sheathed in a thin white braid of very good quality.
A metal hoop around the structure from within. On each side of the arch was engraved "Enermax". But the primary purpose of these prints is not decorating or design. These "Enermax" holes are drilled ventilation (suction exactly). The air is drawn not only from above but also by all 4 sides of the fan. This tip will increase by 20% airflow.
The dimensions of the fans are standard: 120x120x25 mm.

The propeller has 9 pale whose surface is a "Batwing" (ie a curve in the center which means that each blade has two slightly curved surfaces like the wings of bats).
Enermax claims that this technology improves pale 30% of the airflow.
The bearings used are "Twister" (rotating magnetic beads). These bearings are chosen guarantee a long service life of the fan.
As to the form of light, they are relatively large surface but are curved.

The fan is equipped with 4 white leds. The son of the electric supply for once are very discreet and tidy in their gutters. They are very thin and do not have gutters.
On one corner of the fan, a small switch (the cable can be held). It allows you to turn off the LEDs. Useful if you do not mind too much jacky.

Here is the running Cluster 120mm LED lit:

As for the Magma or Everest, the blades are removable.
    Very useful for cleaning.
Taking the technique: the Cluster 120mm runs from 500 to 1200 RPM. Neither too fast nor too slow, compromise performance / silence should be good.
Noise are reported from 8 to 14 dB for air flows corresponding to 26.51 to 53.02 CFM. We will check all this in the tests whose results are next ...

Re: Enermax 120mm Cluster Case Fans

We first checked the speed of the fan at 5V and 12V with a laser tachometer. It is very close to the values announced. There is no problem with that.

Turn now to the flow of air. The measurement is made with a digital anemometer placed 1 cm from the light in the outflow. 30 and 63 CFM at 5 and 12V are very much in the eloquence of what was announced.

Time to get down the noise.
A 2 cm, we measured the noise with a digital Decibel.

With 38 and 49 dB at 5 and 12V, the Cluster 120mm takes the 11th place in our class and remains in the category of silent fans.
Mounted in a housing, it will not increase the overall noise.

The cluster is to average power. It remains among the quietest and is therefore in a good performance / noise.
It takes a great 6th place in the performance / noise.

Here is the league table and figures for details see even better.
The third line lists the distance of the points with the origin.

This slight lack of power of Cluster reaffirmed in tests for static pressure. Output Radiator Core Contact Freezer from Sunbeamtech, there is a little over 17% of the stream. Not bad but still far less than other more powerful fans. Static pressure is correct but average. What makes the cluster of Enermax quite versatile. It is a good place on a housing and both radiator medium gauge.

Re: Enermax 120mm Cluster Case Fans

    Conclusion:

This cluster complements the range of fans Batwing type proposed by Enermax. It is situated between Everest and magma in terms of power, which provides a final report a good performance / noise. Its design and its quality does not remove anything. It is found today in less than 16 €.

We have given a note on several criteria:

    - A note on the 5 per bundle
    - A note 5 to the look (color, material, etc. ...)
    - A note 5 to the power (airflow)
    - A note on 5 for noise
    - A note on 5 for the flow / noise
    - A note on 5 for the price

The average of these notes is reduced to a note on 20, and is the overall rating of the fan.

    Most

    - Good performance / noise
    - Design, lighting
    - Propeller dismountable
    - Switch for LEDs

    Least
    - No
