Nokia Locate Sensor can help you find lost keys, phones, bags, purses or anything you’re likely to need right before you rush out the door. Revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show, it’s currently a project kicking around the labs at the Nokia Research Centre, but it’s an interesting one.
The final twist on this quirky device is that you can set it to find your Nok. If you have a tag on you but you’ve put your phone down and can’t remember where, as long as you’re within 3 metres of it the tag will alert you to its presence.
It’s still in the development stage, no doubt to make the whole design smaller and more power efficient still, and there is no world whether it will ever be released. However, we’ll definitely be keeping tabs on this one for further reference.
Nokia Locate Sensor basically a small device that that can be attached to a something that you’re worried you forget about, like your wallet or car keys. After that, the Nokia Locate Sensor will communicate wirelessly to the user’s phone via a software app, and will sound an alarm when specified events happen, such as the object moving too far away from the phone or if the sensor is dropped. There isn’t any information as to what type of connection it uses, but Bluetooth would probably be a good guess.
