After the revolution initiated by the extraordinary Symphony Of The Night there are more than ten years, the Castlevania series has continued to moult on Nintendo DS with Dawn of Sorrow and more recently Portrait Of Ruin, worthy successors of the heritage and legacy. But none has so far managed to stamp its mark in history as the saga sotn has done in his time. Nonetheless, it is démord Konami does not and continues the tradition by offering a new iteration on the support of Nintendo. Title Order Of Ecclesia, the third component introduces a new portable heroin in the person of Shano, young and beautiful warrior in the service of that order. A dark and attractive character whose presence any vampire and Gothic accoutrement reminiscent in some respects the divine Alucard. As a promise of succession?

Shano white cat

The Belmont clan and its legendary whip missing, the human species is back to the state livestock fearful face the imminent reappearance of Dracula. To protect the herd of the legendary predator, many organizations are emerging with the shared aim of eradicating the Dark Lord. One of them will stand out, however, the Order of Ecclesia, after lengthy research on the glyphs, symbols magic that few elected officials are able to control. Shano is one of the few insiders. A young girl trained to become the receptacle for Dominus, the mysterious Glyphics developed by the College and only capable of carrying the fatal blow to sinister Dracula. But Albus, a young warrior of the Order and friend of Shano, does not imply the ear and seized Dominus nose and beard Barlow, his mentor. The latter has no choice but to send Shano on her heels ...

As the leaves guess the few lines above, Order Of Ecclesia is a bleak. Chronologically following Symphony of the Night, this episode continues in the atmosphere. Beyond the obvious relationship between Alucard and Shano, here we find a context similar to that sotn and despair surrounding the characters. However, history is still short of this magnitude which is always sotn the masterpiece of the saga. Similarly, Shano, so intriguing and stylish as it is, lack of thickness and shrinks unfortunately wax mask that displays the time. We would have appreciated a little more commitment on his part. However, Order Of Ecclesia revives the darkness of his illustrious elder, after a moment a little too colorful to our taste (Portrait Of Ruin).

Wrapped glyph, the beautiful Shano has the resource!

But the descent stops here and Order Of Ecclesia happily avoids falling into contemplation of his model. Rather than place the entire adventure in a huge castle, the title proposes between different places. The movement of Shano are represented via a map gradually expand to new locations. Fortunately for our silent warrior, all teeming not only the living dead, demons and other succubus. Shano can indeed count on the quiet calm of the village of Wygol and the headquarters of the Order of Ecclesia to recharge between two towers. Visits to the village have their importance as Shano's task subsidiary release of its citizens held captive by Albus. Return to their homes, villagers offer our heroine to many quests appendices providing benefits in kind. Indeed, each survivor will fill the shop in the village of new items: potions, armor, accessories, etc.. Typically relatively dispensable, such bonuses should not be neglected in Order Of Ecclesia. Typically relatively dispensable, such bonuses should not be neglected in Order Of Ecclesia. The title is indeed a particularly steep intransigence, particularly during boss battles. Multiple attempts will be essential to develop a winning strategy. But the most common creatures are not left since the animal was deeply renewed, forcing us to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the bulk of the troops. Old briscard appreciate.

Shano Yeah!

To expunge the world of scum Warlock, Shano has serious arguments. The beautiful may indeed acquire two offensive glyphs and a third in support. Combined them, the first may give birth to a Union devastating drawing on its reserve hearts but also rapidly alternating keys X and Y. At the heart of gameplay Order Of Ecclesia, the glyphs are presented in more detail.

We are now accustomed, but omit to mention it would be unfair: The Castlevania series works wonders for Nintendo DS. Visually, Order Of Ecclesia is very good at displaying a 2D great finesse. If the characters sprites are still thick, some sets and creatures are particularly successful. However, we regret some repetition in design sets, some of which, too austere, denote a flickering inspiration. Speaking of environments, a small handful of them are of a linear rather surprising in view of the size of the platform affirmed previous series. Long corridors successive monsters and traps of all sorts but without any verticality. As for the sound environment, Konami flatters once again our esgourdes a soundtrack control. The most fussy - including yours truly is - can certainly find enough common in terms of admirable compositions which the series has accustomed us, but do not deny our pleasure, it is very pleasant to listen.

Overall quite varied scenery still suffer from some repetition

Finally, Order Of Ecclesia is not stingy content since most of the traditional Boss Rush inviting us to correct all the monsters end level, players who have completed the adventure unblock the Albus Fashion, in other words the possibility repeat with the solo blondinet. The levels also are full of small rooms to ferret out secret and the epic can still continue in both environments discovering hidden in the last moments of the game to finalize everything, Konami complete this hearty menu features network, including the possibility of trade among players but also to measure to a friend via the mode Course.

Conclusion

Konami stays the course and consolidate a little legend Castlevania. Order Of Ecclesia makes us happy to reconnect with the darkness of sotn while based on an original gameplay. The system of glyphs offers a depth of play very valuable and guaranteed many hours of games with more volunteers. A big fifteen hours will be needed to complete the main quest (with good end!) And a dozen more who wishes to carry out all the quests annexes. Regrettably however, a main quest without large-scale, a main character disembodied and some weaknesses in the level-design. These small inconvenience aside, Order Of Ecclesia is simply impeccable. Without doubt the best episode DS to date.
