Skill and power of attack, two pleasant qualities of survival in a confrontational scenario in height.
Damnation, to which its own developers have called "the vertical shooter," is an action game in the third person who does not have the name of Gears of War 2, Far Cry 2 or Killzone 2 but which can give a lot of noise in the coming months. The game, developed with the powerful graphics engine Unreal Engine 3, promises shootings, acrobatics and an open world with scenes of chaotic dimensions. A draft stage?

Damnation, distributed by Codemasters and developed by unknown studio Blue Omega Entertainment, is a new third person shooter that uses the excellent graphics engine licensed by Epic, Unreal Engine 3.0, to recreate a futuristic aesthetic of the Far West steampunk, a world at war that combines charm with a science fiction and fantasy, present and futuristic technology, but also elements of the American Civil War, as its history calls upon us a curious alternative vision of the conflict still without conclusion.

In the game combines action and platforms intensively, in large three-dimensional scenes with a vertical design. That's because, according to its own developers, in Damnation is so important to move forward and vertically upwards or downwards.

In our first contact with the game os explain the plot and game development, and in this new approach to the title, which will be available for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 during the first months of 2009, we want to focus on the slope Damnation of multiplayer and weapons, with an interesting way in both local and cooperative online multiplayer modes and a powerful competitive promise of significantly lengthen the gaming experience.

Friend or Enemy. Damnation has a cooperative mode instant, that is, where players can join and leave the game at any time to help us move forward in the campaign and tour the comprehensive map of the game from one extreme to another, a fact that, according its developers, would take us about three hours.

    Re: Damnation (Xbox 360)

Damnation has a cooperative mode instant, that is, players can join and leave the game at any time, also includes the already classic multiplayer modes like all against all, all against all teams, Capture the Flag and King of the hill.
Due to the large size of the map, we will have vehicles in Damnation, for example with a sort of motorcycle very fast and able to climb walls, perfect for escaping persecution or achieve a high area, or a vehicle of three seats with room for a driver in the front and two gunners in the rear, ideal for running guerrilla attacks.

Damnation also includes the already classic multiplayer modes like all against all, all against all teams, Capture the Flag and the king of the hill. The peculiarity of the scenarios, designed primarily vertically, giving the multiplayer component of a very strategic way, because we can use the different heights of the levels as best suits us to find the best angle shot.

Our character, capable of performing incredible acrobatics, may run for the roofs, jumping between buildings, climbing walls and down cords or hold on to an outgoing or to shoot in any direction. In addition, we will have the 'Spirit Vision', a kind of thermal vision that will enable us to know the position on a temporary basis, both of our fellow team members - in blue - as the enemies - in red - and thus have little more help.

By focusing, we can use the "Spirit Vision", to which the position of our enemies, whether hidden or sight - as is the case with this image - and to determine what the best route and the best tactic to reach they.
Do you like my revolver? Damnation includes a variety of weapons, based on models of the Far West but with a futuristic design steampunk. From pistols, revolvers, shotguns and rifles for accuracy, a more potent as machine guns and cannons.

The automatic revolver, the most common of the revolvers in Damnnation, is equipped with four-cylinder with 8 rounds of capacity each - a total of 32 bullets - and has a rapid rate of fire with a good power.

The Golden Tagle pistol, a shotgun that fires bullets, is an alternative to the gun by its strength, but in exchange provides a lower shutter speed. Another equally powerful gun is the Revenant, a compressed air gun that shoots a small ball with shrapnel in her interior to a very high speed. Once inside the enemy it explodes, making pieces to any human or disabling enemy for a short time to mechanized enemies.

For players who like to stay away from enemy fire, the precision rifle Dark Seraph is ideal, with a peephole zoom 4x/10x boasts powerful shot that can penetrate multiple enemies in a row.

The shotgun has a three-gun bullets, becoming a potent weapon for combat melee, or to tear down small groups of enemies. We will cross our path with the nail gun, a weapon used primarily for the construction of the railway, which has become over time and they change into a weapon capable of nailing an enemy into a wall.

The character will use all kinds of acrobatics to reach any point in the scenario, you can run, jump enormous sway, to grab an outgoing, and so on.
The cannon, armored robots equipped by the Prescott Standard Industries of the fearsome villain WD Prescott, is a tremendously powerful weapon. A single cannon shot of this will blow vehicles, buildings and anything that stand in their way. Another gun equipped by the men of Prescott is the machine gun with a high rate of fire and able to shoot down waves of enemies.

We do not want to overlook in this review to weapons of Damnation the Arrow Rifle - a sort of crossbow rifle - equipped with arrows in his Nitroglycerin loaded tip. This weapon is capable of giving an explosive killing groups of enemies quickly and creeping.

In Damnation there are also grenades which, in turn, makes the role of mines. Can be launched and detonated remotely at any time, whereas if placed at some point, we will shoot the detonating cord.

Damnation seems to be one of those games that, without making much noise, can become a very pleasant surprise. Its interesting blend of action shooter and platforms, a striking and meticulous art direction, original beauty, its innovative design in the design of the scenarios, and the graphic quality that ensures the use of the Unreal Engine 3-proven in a multitude of titles Can lead to a fruit cocktail very unique, at least, will have to follow very closely to its launch in early 2009.
