    Sacred 2: Fallen Angel

    Since the last big announcement by Blizzard, fans of hack & slash speak more than Diablo III. It is true that the series is at the root of its kind, not talking about no "diablo-like" and that the protected by Blizzard which is already very impressive, but it seems no question of an exit before several months so why not focus on games coming out today? Author of very nice of Sacred that four years ago Ascaron actually returned to the front of the stage with a series simply entitled Sacred 2: an opportunity to forget Blizzard few hours?

    While retaining the action and nervousness style Diablo, Sacred first name had a competitive edge by increasing significantly the richness of the universe. The world Ancaria is much larger than other securities offering of its kind, the quests are more numerous and all have a touch of "adventure" far from unpleasant. Among Germans Ascaron, no visible change a winning team. Thus, the world Ancaria is still in the program for this second opus, but the developers went even further by enriching their world yet. According to official data, we can indeed count on an area of about 70 square kilometers with over 500 quests to be done and a good sixty dungeons to explore. All of which promise of course a lifetime enormous, but starting from the beginning ...

    The creation of character is a little disappointing

    Like any good hack & slash self-respecting, part of Sacred 2 began with the creation of his character. Alas, we must admit that this side is, Ascaron is a little pale figure with a rather limited customization of our avatar. We have a choice between two facets of the campaign (shadow and light) and, especially, six classes of characters that are quite different from those proposed in Sacred first name (excluding Seraphino of). These choices must of course to address the game so significantly different specializing instead on the fight melee, weapons of distance or magic ... This selection, we opted for a tutelary deity and adventure can begin! Contrary to what one might believe, moreover, it is not here to pick up where we left Sacred first name. The history of Sacred 2 began actually some 2000 years before the first version.

    In the world of Ancaria, Energy T occupies a special place.The powerful substance, including the origin of the magic world, is under the control of high elves for centuries, but a real civil war erupted in the noble people. Other races have the opportunity to attempt to take power on Ancaria and what had to happen happened: Energy T out of control and brings chaos to the world. It is in this context at least tormented the players to intervene, perhaps, prevent the Apocalypse to occur. This is more or less county throughout the game, but not be clear now: the scenario of the game is not what we remember most. The increase is quietly, but not really exciting and it is better to see this story as a way of staking our adventure, a simple thread.


    In fact, Sacred 2 is designed as a game very open to how some other role-playing, but pretty far from what we have used the previous hack & slash. The player can survey the world at will, meet various non-player characters and accept / reject quests as they see fit. This very open things should ensure not relive twice the same adventure, but suffers some problems, however. First, we must recognize that absolute novices may be a bit lost to the vastness of the world. A tutorial a little soft knee is certainly in the program, but it does not prepare that much the rest of the adventure, obviously much less prescriptive. Another problem, developers have probably done a lot of work to remove a maximum of bugs or inconsistencies, but there are rather a twice!

    Between enemies who remain trapped in the scene, the dead who continue to send balls of fire, the horse who refuses to be installed (Note: in all things honorably, it will be) and opponents who attack that when one decides to attack, we saw all the colors! Fortunately, during the many hours we spent in Ancaria, no bug has really blocked our progress and, over the past two updates, we have no longer met the back in office lesser of Windows. Ascaron should have more correct things before marketing its game, but monitoring quality and seems things remain perfectly playable, provided, of course, possess a powerful: Sacred 2 is quite demanding and it will take a double heart-processor 2 GHz, 2 GB of memory and a graphics card GeForce 8800 class to be fun.

    "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisitor"

    This requirement, however, is perfectly justified when we think about what we propose Ascaron. Sacred 2 is first with its beautiful environments rich in detail, its wide variety of scenery and a little style "design" changing productions too realistic that we see often in the hack & slash. We must not forget that during all his walks, the player is embarrassed by any loading, except when entering a dungeon! This appreciable comfort must have its counterpart and 2 GB of RAM is more than recommended. We regret however that excellent graphics does not really side characters. Nothing to report on their modeling, it is very successful, but the animations are sometimes a little fair and whether the rigid aspect of Sacred first name is in progress, it is still possible to do much better. Finally, the soundtrack highlights how some beautiful passages of adventure while knowing is to forget the rest of the time.

    But leaving aside the technical aspect of things getting back to what motivates most players hack & slash the gameplay and changing the main character. Gameplay side, we'll be a little nasty with Ascaron, the German developers have not broken the head. They say the letter included mechanisms Sacred, it must be said that they had proved particularly effective. It is still subject to alternate between left mouse button to strike with a weapon base and right button to use the arts of combat. Behind this name a bit barbaric hiding skills so that we can still move through pre combos via convenient developed by Ascaron. If these combos are fairly original, recognize that it does not upset things.

    The fights are varied and some are with very impressive bosses!

    The fighting in Sacred 2 still in the style hack & slash and are not more tactical than its direct competitors. However, fans will accommodate all their reserved by Ascaron other surprises by offering a very rich hero. Customization starting side, we stayed on our hunger, but gain some levels enough to reassure the most jaded players.     Most will however myopes more critical of the inventory. The automatic storage is well thought out, but all is very small and it is sometimes difficult to identify small objects most similar. This is not a major defect and it was soon forgotten as the adventure is rich and active. In many ways, Sacred 2 appears as an updated chart of its predecessor and it is true by Ascaron could be more inventive, but the mechanics of the game are burnished and amateur back quickly in the solo adventure. Multiplayer side but we are not convinced. The stability of the whole is better since the latest updates, but there is still a lot of connection problems and it is mainly the lack of players is embarrassing. Ascaron had incorporated all the most common modes (two players cooperative, up to 16 servers on public or other secure as Blizzard) ... Remains to be seen whether the lack of partner is confirmed.

    Conclusion

    Probably a little too close to his predecessor, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel repeats the essential mechanisms for a relatively conventional operation. Yet the experience of developers, changes in the technical aspect of things and the incredible wealth Ancaria the world should be sufficient to return all fans of hack & slash. The principle is still as effective and the life of all is simply prodigious who does not finish at all costs the main scenario, the more thread than anything else. There remains, unfortunately, the technical problems that had already singled out of Sacred first name.Ascaron seems to have difficulties to deliver a finalized, but monitoring is, again, quality already with three updates very effective. Sacred 2 is now very interesting and very playable if you have the machine properly and that the multiplayer does not seem paramount.

    It seems to be a good game, and I hope that I do not regret to purchase it
