windows cannot connect to my webcam
I have a Windows XP desktop and recently bought a new Logitech Webcam for video chat. Webcam installed properly and worked fine for 2 days but then suddenly stopped working. Now whenever I try to use camera with Skype, or any other application like Yahoo, it never turns on and says “another program may be using my webcam.”
But I am sure that there is no other program running. I even tried killing all background process and launched just Skype at a time, still the same error message. Can anyone please tell me how can I use my camera and get rid of this annoying error message?
Many Thanks.
Re: windows cannot connect to my webcam
Most probably this error occurs because of driver as well in case where the same driver is opposed to another program also and is taking the camera over. So the best solution is go to Logitech's official site, locate your camera model and download the most recent driver and install. Problem should be fixed.
Re: windows cannot connect to my webcam
Thank you very much for the help Lucile, as you said i tried updating the drivers but it says the driver version is up to date. Also let me tell you that i can see others on my Skype but they can only hear me.
Any other solution please?
Re: windows cannot connect to my webcam
Hi, I have a similar problem. What is confusing me is that the cam worked fine on Windows Live Messenegr 2008, but it upgraded tro the 2009 version and the cam stopped working. it works fine in skype, yahoo and camfrog, just not Windows Live Messenger anymore. I have even updated the drivers. Advise please? Thanks Derek
