'Administrator has prohibited access to CD/DVD ROM drives.'
I am using a pc that is giving me some issues about 'Administrator has prohibited access to CD/DVD ROM drives.' I dont have the intel utility installed on the computer. I have got an Acer computer and I have uninstalled the Acer utilities. But that didnt solve the issue. When I am trying to do a repair install then the computer only goes so far and then the usb keyboard and mouse stops working. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: 'Administrator has prohibited access to CD/DVD ROM drives.'
Did you try to search the Acer computer on its manufacturer's website and check if it has the Recovery CD or DVD set for your model pc. Before using the Recovery set, you should wipe out the hard drive and delete all paritions and let the recovery set repartition and reformat the hard drive.
Re: 'Administrator has prohibited access to CD/DVD ROM drives.'
The client has too much of data that he cannot erase. So that is why I did a repair install. I also talked to Acer and they were of no help as well.

The Problem Is a software Named "AdminWorks" By "Avocent".
It Is a part Of IDU (Intel Desktop Utility).
1. You need to Kill the following processes:
