Limited or no connectivity when connecting to a wireless router
I have a Dell machine that has an internal wireless card and am running Windows Vista on it. The router that I am using in on a computer running windows xp. Every other computers are able to connect to the router via wirelessly without any problems. But in the Vista machine, it will always give me a yellow triangle telling me that I have limited or no connectivity and I am not able to access the internet. I checked that I had to run the power saving mode on high power, so it isnt the issue for me. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks.
Re: Limited or no connectivity when connecting to a wireless router
Hi folks,
I had this problem too. My notebook is a Dell Vostro 1310 with Vista Ultimate SP 2, using a Dell 1395 Wireless Card. Below I'll describe the way I solved it:
1) Network Sharing Center -> Manage Network Connections -> Right Click on Wireless Network Connection -> Properties
2)Click on Configure
3)Select Advanced tab
4)Select the propertie IBSS Mode, and changed from "802.11b only" it to "802.11b/g Auto"
When I did it, the wireless card was able to retrieve a new IP Address, and the problem was gone.
Hope this help somebody!
Best Regards!
Limited or no connectivity when connecting to a wireless router- Windows Vista
I had problem in connecting to wireless, I was able to connect to other wireless network but not to a particular wireless.
upgrading driver would fix this, go to
control panel
hardware and sound
device manager
network adapters
wireless adapter network
right click and update driver software
before this see that your laptop is connected to any other wireless or thru ethernet cable to update the driver
