Windows XP - restore factory settings
I have an Acer laptop running with Windows XP bought about 6 years ago. The system is updated with all recent drivers and Windows Updates. Don’t know why from past two weeks the laptop has gone very slow and I’m annoyed with the same. So now I decided to restore the system to factory settings. Now the problem I’m facing is there are 3 CDs which I got with this laptop. One of them says “Resources” and other two are “Recovery Disc 1 and 2”.
Can anyone please tell me which of these CDs is required to restore laptop to factory settings? Many help.
Re: Windows XP - restore factory settings
Most probably there use to be built-in application for Factory Restore. Check in Start > All Programs. See if there is any folder for Acer. If not, you will need to check Acer web site Support.
Re: Windows XP - restore factory settings
Hello friend, you need to use the two CDs which says "Recovery Disc" in order to restore the system like it was while buying. . Hope you know that all applications whether it is free or purchased will be deleted. Hence i will suggest you to better try to repair your system using Windows XP Installation Disc. This will not delete the softwares. But if yu are not concerned about the applications then simply go with the recovery disks.
