Where is the CHKDSK log file stored ?
Due to some reason I run CHKDSK on my Windows Xp system while booting up today morning. It took long time (around 20 minutes) to complete the process. As it took huge time to complete the disk checking I want to see the log. Can you guys please let me know where on my system can I get the CHKDSK log ?
Re: Where is the CHKDSK log file stored ?
Autochk log actually get stored by the Winlogon service, hence you need to search for related to Winlogon listed as the source of the entry in the eventviewer. You can start it by typing eventvwr.msc in the Start > run. For more info checkout this Microsoft Article. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...us/chkdsk.mspx

Yeah that’s correct. It is related to Winlogon. I checked it once long ago, unable to recall the path correctly but I guess you can find it S tart > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. Once you reach here, there is an option named Application on the left side. Now search for Winlogon on the right pane under Source column. If you find anything related to WinLogon or 1001, double click the same to open.
