Shell32.dll I am using this Windows XP system since a long time. Recently I removed Norton and installed AVG 7.5 antivirus. Seince then whenever I run scan I use to get a pop saying something about ?shell32.dll?. I never had this problem before installing AVG and it appears only when AVG scan is running. Now as far as I know shell32.dll is a very crucial file which is used by web browser, hence I am not willing to delete it. But why AVG is detecting it again and again? Has it gone corrupt of something? What should I do? Please help. |
RE: Shell32.dll Probably you might need to re-register shell32.dll as an activeX clsid. You can do this by going to Start > RUN > type the following and hit Enter. regsvr32 shell32.dll Have you run a spyware app, like Windows Defender lately? If not, run the one Windows Defender home: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx |
Re: Shell32.dll What is the exact error message you getting regarding shell32.dll while running scan with AVG? Is it reporting on the Virus results page that C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll has been changed or something? I am asking this because if AVG is not saying something like that then there is no problem with your system or shell32.dll. What you need to is simply press F3 to tell AVG to accept the change. |
