Why does Small buisness office say it is for non-commercial use?
Recently I bought a new MS Office Small Business Edition, installed it on my systems. There was no problem with the installation. But now no matter which office application I open, all of them have ‘non-commercial use’ message in the title bar. It appears with each office application.
Any idea what is wrong with this ? How can I remove it? Is there any limitations of using this edition?
Re: Why does Small buisness office say it is for non-commercial use?
The only reason for this message is because the system you are using was already having a trial office suite installed. Is it correct? If yes, you must have removed the trail before installing Small Business Edition because the trail use to be for non commercial use and since you installed the purchased edition over it, it is still showing you the same message.
So uninstall all office suites from Add and remove programs, run disk cleanup utility and delete office folders. Restart the computer and install the new office suite again. It will work fine.

As far as I know if you using any software for managing your own business is not commercial use. But using the same software for managing someone else's business is "commercial" use. Make sure you are not doing the same.

Hello Theodore, I think your definition is completely different from Microsoft’s. According to MS “The software is not
licensed for use in any commercial, non-profit, or revenue-generating business activities.”
