Memory leak in services.exe
Hi,
My scenario is;
Windows 2003 Server Ent. SP2
Domain Controller and TS
2 Hard Disks (200 GB) non RAID controller
1,5 GB RAM
SQL Server 2000 Standard SP4
MS Exchange Server 2003 SP2
No viruses or spywares.
The server has been working fine from a month ago, it is experimenting a
memory leak in services.exe proccess, the past Sunday I restarted it, then
services.exe begun with 20MB and today it has grow up to 130MB and continue
growing. I've searching for similar issues and more people have the same
problem but nobody get a solution. I've checked with Sysinternals Proccess
Explorer and all seems ok. I get a headache for several days.
Is there any fix or solution to this problem?, Did anybody get resolve this
issue?
Many thanks in advance
JuanD
Re: Memory leak in services.exe
Hi JuanD,
have also spent a lot of time on our system regarding this issue. In
our environment the problem was the security log. It looks like that
some software installation sets the maximum log size for security log
to 130MB. Resetting it back to 16MB solved it.
Hope that helps.
