Win32 install error "for a machine type other than current machine
I have been trying to install a Win32 application in my system running on windows xp pro but as soon as i am launching setup.exe i get an error message saying "The image file <C:\xxxxx\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine." I don't know what that means , is there anything i need to check??? I need to install my Win32 application as soon as possible.
Re: Win32 install error "for a machine type other than current machine
Your error refers to 16 bit program, since you have mentioned that you are installing Win32 application i guess its installer might be 16 bit. I am not that sure in your case but i have come across few having such cases. So if your Win32 application is actually having 16 bit installer than you will have to install it on 32 bit system because you wont be able to install it on x64 one.
Re: Win32 install error "for a machine type other than current mac
Yes you are right, i have just asked about it to my friend who is running same Win32 application on 32 bit system. He said that we do have a 32 bit program but it's installer is 16 bit. Anyways i wanted to know if there is anything that i can try out to get my Win32 application working on x64 one? Is there any converter or something like that to use 16 bit installer as 32 bit. I might sound weird but the thing is that i am not willing to revert back to 32 bit system just because of this Win32 application. Any further help regrading this will be highly appreciated.
