Win32k.sys error, reinstall XP?
I have a desktop with Intel P4 @2.53ghz, 1GB of Ram and Windows XP Home edition with Service Pack 2. sSince last week I am receiving BlueScreen every now and then on this PC stating the following Error message:
Quote:
***Stop: 0x000000BE (0XBF80AC56, 0x10E44021, 0xB902B84C, 0x0000000C)
***Win32k.sys Address
BF80ac56
Base at BF800000
Date Stamp 43446a58
I don’t know what could be the reason but I guess it is somehow related to win32.sys. I took my PC to a computer shop where after analyzing they said that windows need to be reformatted. Here I have a question that will reformatting will fix the win32.sys issue?

There could be several reasons for this bluescreen. As per the error mentioned above, it could be due to your Mouse, Keyboard layout, or a multi-users having multi-clipboard running in the background. Are you able to boot your system until desktop where you can access Start Menu? If yes, you should try starting the system in Clean boot. You can do this by typing “msconfig” in RUN. Go to Startup Tab and disable all startup items. If you don’t get any bluescreen in clean boot then it is probably because of one or more startup item. You will need to check them one by one.
