USB Thumb Drive Recovery Console
Hi guys, am using Windows 2K Professional. I wanted to create a Bootable USB Thumb drive to boot a recovery console. Am not sure but few of my friends said that it is not possible to in Windows. According to them Windows does not support bootable thump drive officially. Is that true ? Or is there any way we can use bootable USB drive (no matter windows 2000 or XP) on my system ?
Re: USB Thumb Drive Recovery Console
I don’t know whether USB Thumb drives bootable works with windows or not but have used Bart PE boot CD many times and it works fine. Will suggest you to go with the same if you really in need to use it.

Hello Hari-priya, I don’t know how can you going to use Recovery Console by booting with a bootable USB drive because I don’t understand from where you going to get the USB drivers in recovery console.
I don’t think its gonna work.

What is the make or model of the laptop that you have? Some laptop have a separate recovery console stored in a separate partition of a hard drive, with an admin password you can simply start the recovery console at boot.
