Re: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
Hi, Greg.
Mine is working fine this morning. It's 45°F (8°C) at the San Marcos
Airport. My gadget has agreed with (most of) the reports on our local
(Austin and San Antonio) TV stations, without getting stuck.
Could there be a problem with your local reporting station? Where do you
live? What location are you watching?

Re: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
I'm pretty sure mine got stuck too. Natchitoches, Louisiana is stuck. So is
Walker, Louisiana.

Re: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
Hi RC,
Thanks for responding. I'm watching Fort Smith, AR. Again, Celsius is
correct, only Fahrenheit is 'stuck'.
Right now Fahrenheit shows 48°, Sprinkles and displays the next 3 days as
Friday, Saturday and Sunday (still 'stuck' on last Thursday's forecate).
Changing it to Celsius shows 6°, Clear and displays the next 3 days as
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (correct since today is Tuesday).
I have it on the desktop, not the sidebar, if it matters. This allows the 3
day forecast to display. This is what makes it so obvious Fahrenheit is
'stuck' since it's still showing Fri/Sat/Sun from last week.
If I click on the link for the weather (the words "Fort Smith, AR") on the
gadget, it takes me to the MSN weather site, which shows the correct weather
information. It's just not updating the gadget.
Is there a manual refresh method? Is there a cache I can clear?
Thanks again,
Greg

Re: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
Hi, Greg.
How 'bout that!
I never realized that we could (a) move the gadget to the desktop or (b) get
it to show the forecast, as well as the current temp! Thanks for prompting
me to explore that. Who knows what else I might find now. ;<) Hey,
clicking on San Marcos gets me the excellent MSN Weather page, but you knew
that, didn't you?
I've added Ft. Smith now, and it shows 54°F currently, with forecasts of
56°, 57° and 58° for Wed, Thu and Fri, with Sun tomorrow and sprinkles the
next two days.
No, I don't know how to fix the "stuck" problem. :>(
You are not the Greg with a TBird, are you? I grew up just across the state
line from Ft. Smith, in LeFlore County, Oklahoma, and most of my relatives
still live there. "Small world", and all that!

RE: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
You must have changed your date back, that's what did it for me. It looks at
the old date (For instance Feb 28th) and says hey, this is newer than the
current date, so it does not update it. I just need to figure out how to say
forget that old forcast and date!

Re: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
Use weatherbug instead, it's better than the built in one IMO. You can
download it for free from the MS "gadgets" page.

Why ANYONE would want to load a POS like Weatherbug is beyond me!
In the past it also loaded Gator another wonderful little prgram.
Do a google on both of these before you decide to load Weatherbug.
Know what you're loading.

Worked with me, but not sure how long it'll stay "un-stuck"

RE: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
That did it! Thanks Pete.
And in response to the previous user, yes, I do change my date constantly,
testing date sensitive features of our software.
Anyway, at least now I can fix it and hopefully it'll work next time it
happens.

Re: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
This worked for me as well. I also had changed the date for testing
purposes. Thanks guys for solving my problem BEFORE I knew that I had it.

RE: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
Thanks Pete. This fix worked great! It was driving me nuts for about a week
trying to figure out to get it to work again.

RE: Weather Gadget "Stuck"
Pete, I don't have a "Appdata" under my username. Do you have any suggestions?
