Bad DirectSound driver. Error code 88780078.
I was working with Pro Tools (a audio sequencing program) on this Windows XP based desktop during which somehow it got overheated and restarted. After restart when the system was up I tried playing a track but now it gives me an error message saying something like “Bad DirectSound driver."
I thought to fix it using the same Pro Tools but that is not able to run anymore as it says me to first connect the mbox, though it is already connected. Do you guys have any idea what has went wrong and how can I fix the problem?
Many Thanks.

Hello TanZail, just go through the following steps to fix it out.
1.) Control Panel
2.) Sounds & Audio Devices icon (or MultiMedia Icon)
3.) Audio tab
4.) In 'Sound playback' make sure the 'Default device:' drop-down box correctly reflects your soundcard.
Hope it helps.
