Boot Disk Failure, Insert System Disk And Press Enter
I have got a new computer that has some problems with it. It all began when there was improper shutdown of Windows at the ending of a Windows Update that was going on. There are no blue screen of death, it was just a normal restart after the Windows Update, that seems to be interrupted because of a non-responding program. After that I am not able to get back to Windows since the reboot and get only this message "BOOT DISK FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." Can anyone please help me out? Thanks
Re: BOOT DISK FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
I am guessing that you have a dead hard drive. You can try to swap hard drive out with another one. After that try to install XP on it and see if that works. You can even test the dead hard drive by putting it as a slave into another computer and check if you can access or copy files to the new pc. Also, if you hear any clicking sound from the hard drive then it is a dead hard drive for sure.

You can try to do a System Repair of Windows XP and see if that works or not:
