Call of Duty 2 and DirectX
I am getting a constant error when I am trying to play Call of Duty 2. I had recently installed the same. I had also upgraded DirectX. The current version that I am using is DirectX 9.0. But when I try to launch the same I am getting a error saying that "DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable error". Does anyone knows about this error. My system configuration is fine here. I am having a good system with latest hardware.
Re: Call of Duty 2 and DirectX
It is a common bug. It looks the existing version is either not installed properly or it is corrupt. You can do one thing. Go on Control Panel > Add/Remove program and get rid of DirectX. Remove any installed version and then restart your system. Download a registry cleaner app and run it. Then go on the official site of Microsoft and download the most recent version of DirectX. Install and then try to run the game. You can try re-install COD also.
Re: Call of Duty 2 and DirectX
Run Windows Update. I am sure that will fix the issue. I got the same error on a different game. I thought that was due to game. But later on I found that Windows automatically downloaded and installed some updates on my pc. The game then worked fine. Through Windows update you can find the latest and most stable edition of DirectX and I am sure that is going to help you more in dealing with the error you are facing.
RE: Call of Duty 2 and DirectX
Many games comes with DirectX installer. Check your game folder. There will be a setup file of DirectX. Run it again. The next thing you have to do is update your video driver. You have to visit the official website of your graphic card manufacturer and get the latest video driver. Download and install the same in your pc and then check back. I am sure that will be far more helpful for you in dealing with the problem you are facing and it is also helpful to some extent.
