hibernation
I am running Windows XP with SP2 with all the updates. I was told to reinstall Windows with my CD Rom and lost the function of hibernation. I have also lost all the functions to turn off monitor and hard drive after 15 minutes. I am searched for some information coming from different forums but havent found any solution for it. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks.

Re: hibernation
Can you specify how did you lost it? When you go into Control Panel then are you able to access the functionality inside the Power Options, just check it and let us know.

Re: hibernation
Can you try to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state. Follow the below article that describes how to configure Windows XP to start by using a clean boot and then how to return Windows XP to a Normal startup type:

Re: hibernation
You can also try to g to Power Properties and then Hibernate tabe and then Enable Hibernation checkbox. If that is what you are looking for, then you might have figured it out from the mention of the Hibernate tab.

You should know that all Power Options in Control Panel are not shown to limited users. You will have to log onto with an Admin account to access all the options that is availabe in the power options category.
