Tips to use your Android Phone as Language Translator
The smart thing of using a Smartphone is that you have option to work with different languages. Many time we travel to new places and it is very hard to find information if you not aware about the local language. English is a international language and it is used around the world. But there are many remote places where regional languages are more used. They are spoken by people and you cannot get any sign or symbols in language you are looking for. If you have a Smartphone with a good internet connecting then you can use a few good applications to get instant information. I am going to test Google Translate App. It offer you image, text and audio output. If you want to understand what other person is speaker you can just record his voice and the app will give you information in your own language. The best app that I found is Google Translate. It works well for many international languages. You get text as well as audio output. But it lacks audio for many regional languages of India. Still it is a good app to use. There are few more you can try out. Lets checkout them one by one.
Google Translate: It is free and available on Google Play. You need a internet connection for this. The app support offline download of languages. If you are on a high speed connection then you can download all the required languages in the device and use them. This app has a simple interface and is easy to use.
The home screen has a three panel. From the top you can choose the input language and from the second one get the output language of your choice. For example in the first one I had selected Hindi and in the second one it is English.
Below that there is a editor box. In which you have three sections. The first one is Camera. Here you take a photo of any text and the app will try to convert that to readable text of your choice. The second one is Mic. here you can speak in your language and the app will give you a short audio output. And the last is for writing with stylus. The app will convert that in your selected output language format.

How it Works:
Google Translate App is the most simplest one to use. It gives you simple way of finding information on different languages.
Camera: To translate text from a photo or from a sign tap on the camera icon in the editor box. Camera input is limited to international language. I tried taking picture o Hindi text but it failed to work. So here I tested with Chinese to English Output. You will get the translation in English with audio. So that you can also listen to that. In the same way you can use translation for different languages.
Mic: The next option is to speak in your language and the app will translate that to any other you had selected. To start you have to tap on the Mic Section. You just have to speak in your language and the output appear in selected one. This is also effect and simple to use. It is time saver.
Handwriting: The last one is using the handwriting recognition part. Here if you have a stylus you can write in your language and it will come out in the selected format. Another easy way to find out what you want to say before communicating. It is also a handy way of finding out information in different language.
There are separate sections in the app that can be more helpful. Like you can scroll down to see your history of translation. You can access the settings panel from top right where you get sms translation option. And you can also download a lot of offline languages which does not require internet connection to use.
