Kingston HyperX 2400 mhz RAM settings
I have just bought 16gb Kingston Hyper X memory and have installed it in my computer with an Intel motherboard. After setting it up I have noticed that the RAM is running only on 1333mhz by default and if I am trying to change the bios to get it to 2400mhz then my computer will not start at all. Does anyone know how to achieve the 2400mhz speed from this RAM? Thanks
Re: Kingston HyperX 2400 mhz RAM settings
Can you try to make sure whether the XMP is not enabled and also try to increase the memory multiplier. Normally, if you leave all the settings at normal then XMP disables the RAM cards that will run at 1333mhz. You can find the memory multiplier under the BIOS settings. Just try to manually set the speed of the memory to 2400mhz

Even I was facing same problem with the Kingston HyperX RAM 2400mhz. I tried to set the RAM with different timers but still the Asus motherboard that I had changes it back to 1333mhz and auto timers. Even after trying the XMP settings once the computer is rebooted then I am greeted with the Overclock Failed message. I guess that the RAM are just not compatible.

You just need to enable the XMP profile in your Intel board or just set the timings manually when you set the speed to 24000mhz. The best thing will be to set the RAM manually. What processor are you running by the way. For overclocking, note that you should also have a good CPU like i5 core or i7 core. Also, update to the latest BIOS version to avoid any issues.
