antec vp650p or corsair vs650 psu
I am using a Amd FX series processor, Gigabyte mobo, 4gb ram, HD 6870 video card and a cheap PSU which is failing to power this rig. Now I am looking to upgrade the power supply and have make my mind to buy either the Corsair VS650 or Antec VP650 Watt power supply. Can anyone tell me which among these psu's has got the best quality? Thanks

For using a HD 6870 video card you should have atleast a minimum of 550 watt power supply or if its greater than its ever better. If the power supply doesnt have the maximum combined +12volt continuous current rating of 25amps or higher then it is of no use. Also note that a 6pin Pci express power connectors is required to power the graphics card. Since I am an Antec fan and it has never disappointed me so I would suggest you to go for the Antec VP650 psu.

I dont think that your system requires more than 550W power supply with 2 pcie connectors that are must of the graphics card. So, what you can get at a cheaper rate would be the Antec Truepower New TP-550. This power supply is listed among the top most rated PSU and it also gives a good performance and its a quality product as well.

Well, if you could get the Antec Earthwatts EA-650 Green over the Antec VP650P then it would be worth for some few extra dollars even if the difference betwenn them are exactly the same. The HD 6870 will use pretty less than 12 Amps from the +12v rail at maximum power utilization. There is another PSU called Seasonic S12II 520 Watts at a less cheaper rate that you can get.
